If I am not mistaken, Jackson also has some collaboration with the University of Washington? Could you say a bit more about this? I'm a little confused because I thought that Jackson is part of Yale? Thanks!

You also mentioned that Jackson is thinking about becoming its own institute in the future, what would this mean to incoming students?

I am interested in pursuing a joint degree from Jackson and the School of Public Health. Is there enough flexibility in the program(s) for me to also pursue a specific public health concentration (such as global health) or is it a more general Masters of Public Health degree?

About how many people pursue MBA/MA join-degree at Yale SOM and Jackson this year?

Hi Asha, this is Danlan! Thanks for the brief introduction. Could you please tell us more about the career prosperity after graduation form MPA program of Jackson Institute? What's the ratio of MPA graduates going into public sector and private sector?

Is there any opportunity to work (e.g., project/intern) with World Bank Group (i.e., IDB or IFC)?

Would students admitted to Jackson ONLY be able to utilize career and alumni resources from both Jackson and Yale by taking a few classes at Yale's professional school?

Thank you so much for all of your help! I am very interested in Jackson but I just graduated this past May, so I think it sounds like I am a few years younger than most Jackson students. However, my undergraduate degree is in a field unrelated to the one I hope to pursue a career in (global health), so I am eager to begin my time at Jackson in order to start working towards that. Do you typically accept recent graduates, or would you recommend gaining further work experience before applying?

Thanks so much for your clarifications! Since I am an international student, I wonder what supports and resources do you offer to this particular population and what percentage of current cohort is made of international students?

If I have been out of university for some time, is it possible to submit only professional references? How do students usually handle this?

Hi Asha, thank you so much for hosting today's webinar! I grew up in Northwest CT and have a few fellow Vassar graduates now at YLS, FES, and SPH, so I have always dreamed of attending Yale. I have a few questions and would love your thoughts on any or all of them. 1.) How do you recommend addressing an area of my application that could use improvement? For example, quantitative skills. I have a legal background and have not had as much quantitative experience as others. Part of why I am interested in graduate school is to improve my quantitative skills. 2.) How would you compare Yale Jackson with leading programs in public policy or public administration? For example, Princeton WWS? 3.) Are there particular professors that specialize in technology and environmental policy that you recommend reaching out to? I currently work on the Legal Team at a food-tech company and am interested in leveraging my experience for a career that combines food/environmental studies, technology, and policy.

Also, what would make a strong candidate to Jackson both in terms of academic and professional backgrounds?

Hi Asha! The flexibility to determine your coursework is a big draw for me at Jackson given my positive experience at a similarly open undergraduate college. Can you talk a bit more about how students build their curriculum after the required classes are complete? Are we able to work with a faculty adviser in that process?
